LaKisha Rochelle Harris is the second oldest of 9 children raised by Rev. Richard and Mrs. Thelma Grimmett in North Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Reeths Puffer High School. Later she earned her degree in english and creative writing from Western Michigan University. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. .
LaKisha is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese languages and loves to travel. Her love for cooking was developed under the tutelage of her mother, who ran a highly successful catering company in the Muskegon area for more than 30 years. Post the untimely death of her mother and after much prayer and consideration; LaKisha launched out to start Soul Filled Cakes & Catering in 2014. With the tangline: "Food that is good to, and good for your soul".
She is the mother of one daughter Rheyma DeLynn and currently hosts two businesses in Muskegon as well as Detroit, MI.
She has worked as a translator, educator, and neurosurgical assistant. However, her love has always been to feed family and friends.
She is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and more. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event.
